About The Client
BIG4 Holiday Parks are a chain of premium holiday parks across Australia. Â
The company began in 1979 in the Victorian city of Ballarat where four independent caravan park owners united to form the BIG4 brand. BIG4 has now grown to encompass roughly 180 holiday parks found all over Australia, including capital and major cities and various other picturesque locations.
BIG4 Holiday Parks is known for being family friendly, and its parks have a wide accommodation range that includes camping and caravanning sites as well as cabins. Many parks contain facilities that include jumping pillows, splash or water parks, and mini-golf facilities.
The Client’s Problem
BIG4 needed a way of promoting their various holiday parks throughout regional Australia to international visitors.
The majority of international visitors generally spend their holiday time in Capital Cities, due holiday length restraints and not understanding the times and distances involved in visiting regional locations. BIG4 was in need of a way to easily communicate the locations of their parks and clearly demonstrate what is involved in travelling between them.
The Propeld Solution
Propeld worked with BIG4 International to produce a series of self-drive itineraries, illustrating routes, distances and locations of participating Holiday Parks.
We developed a double sided flyer which covered multiple itineraries for Queensland, New South Wale, Victoria, South Australia and Central Australia. This encompassed a colour coded national map, highlighting major tourist locations throughout Australia, state level maps showing the locations of the participating parks and travel times between them. We selected inspiring imagery and combined it with easy to follow copy, highlighting what each region has to offer.
The original document was then expanded into more detailed individual itineraries for each of the states, which were also translated and produced in Chinese for the ever growing Asian tourism market.
Propeld also produced a range of adverts to promote various regions and their holiday parks within Victoria, for use in travel publications.
