About The Client

Gold Star Stays offers their clients self-contained accommodation in the heart of Geelong and Torquay. 

Comprising of multiple properties in Geelong and on the Surf Coast, Gold Star Stays provides a unique accommodation option for travellers. Each of the properties are fully self-contained and have the ability to be joined together, making them a perfect option for group accommodation and business accommodation.

The Client’s Problem

The Gold Star Stays website was costing the owner money as it lacked the ability to attract and convert direct bookings. 

An initial audit of the website identified that it lacked visibility on search engines and offered a poor user experience on mobile devices.

In addition to this the old site had dated photos and a confusing navigation system.

The DTM Solution

The DTM Solution involved a complete rebuild of the Gold Star Stays website to bring it up to the standard required to compete with third party booking sites. 

DTM worked with the business owner to streamline the names of the different properties. The new names resonated with what users would be searching in Google, this was done to maximise the exposure of the properties on organic search.

Combined with a new modern website design, that looks great on any device, the website showcased the properties of Gold Star Stays to an increased audience.

DTM also established strong organic rankings for niche areas of the business across both geographical locations, including:

  • Group Bookings
  • Corporate Bookings
  • Bucks/Hen party Bookings

 All this work has seen the Gold Star Stays website generate a year on year growth from organic search traffic.
